The pituitary gland is called the ‘master’ gland of the whole endocrine system. The gland is attached to hypothalamus and produces the most powerful hormones. The anterior lobe of the pituitary gland releases growth hormone, prolactin, ACTH(adrenocorticotropic hormone),TSH(thyroid-stimulating hormone),FSH(follicle-stimulating hormone) and LH(luteinizing hormone). The intermediate lobe produces melanocyte-stimulating hormone and posterior lobe-ADH(antidiuretic hormone) and oxytocin
